It doesn't get equally hot here in SC USA but we do have hot summers and I often have my van closed and locked parked in full sun with cameras running. The higher the workload the more heat generated in the cam and the less external heat it will be able to handle. Therefore, please apply for Grant, write a peer reviewed paper, and cite said research before posting on this forum.Many cams do not handle heat well, and those offering the higher levels of performance run hotter than those not pushing the hardware as much.

The card works, it doesn't freeze, and no one has complained about compatibility issues. For this very reason they re-worded their warranty terms several years ago to specifically exclude coverage for their memory cards if used in dash cams with the exception of the High Endurance. SanDisk has been well aware that certain of their memory card products tend to fail in dash cameras. Your SanDisk Extreme cards "might" last for years or they could go belly up tomorrow morning and THAT is why you want a durable memory card specifically suited for dash cam use, especially for the new class of higher resolution dual channel devices. Much like the Ultra card it could fail on you when you least expect it. That card is designed for video capture in devices such as action cameras or smartphones but definately not made for dash cam use. The fact that, so far, you have had a positive anecdotal experience for a year with the SanDisk Extreme card is nice to hear but completely meaningless.
Cards that can suddenly and unexpectedly fail are the very last thing you want in a mission critical device like a dash cam and they should be avoided. Newer SanDisk cards like the Extreme you are so enamored with may have greater speed and durability but they too can be problematic when used for long periods of time in looped recording surveillance devices and dash cams. These cards can last quite a long time and work well but they have the nasty little habit of suddenly flipping into read only mode when you least expect it and then you've got a camera that ceases to record. You'll find dozens of posts about this all throughout DCT going all that way back to almost when the site first went live. The SanDisk Ultra in particular is widely known to be failure prone in dash cams. Many of us long time DCT members who have been using dash cams for years and have hands-on experience with literally dozens of cameras and numerous brands and types memory cards know all too well that Sandisk microSD cards are problematic. What is worse about your vituperative behavior is that more often than not you have no idea what you are talking about! It is appalling to witness your chronically abusive behavior towards anyone and everyone who happens to have a different opinion or may happen to disagree with you.
